Who this hair growth support experience is designed for
This private red-light program is created for Niagara-area guests who are looking for a gentle, non-invasive way to support the appearance of their hair and scalp as part of a broader self-care routine. It may be of interest if you:
- want a calm, consistent routine to support the look and feel of your hair over time
- are noticing changes in density, volume or scalp comfort and want to explore light as one supportive tool
- are working on wellness, recovery or stress-support goals and wish to include a focused hair and scalp session
- value privacy, quiet and a one-guest-at-a-time environment
- prefer an experience that feels intentional and restorative, without needles, heat or discomfort
This session is not a medical treatment and does not diagnose, treat or cure hair loss. It is designed as a soothing, light-based experience that some people choose to include alongside guidance from their healthcare provider.

How the light program works
This Hair Growth Support treatment uses carefully timed sessions of low-level red and near-infrared light directed around the scalp. These wavelengths are often explored for their potential to support healthy-looking skin and circulation, which some guests choose as part of their long-term approach to hair and scalp care.
At Solawell, the experience is structured, private and consistent. Each visit follows the same measured light exposure and timing, so you can settle into a rhythm and simply focus on rest.
Everyone's hair and scalp are different, and responses to light can vary. While some people feel that regular sessions complement their existing routine, results are not guaranteed, and this experience is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment. If you have concerns about hair loss, we encourage you to speak with your healthcare provider or dermatologist and consider this service as one supportive element, if appropriate for you.

What a Hair Growth Support session feels like
Your session is unhurried and quiet from the moment you arrive. The studio is reserved for you alone, with soft lighting and a comfortable, supportive chair set up to keep your head and neck at ease.
Once you are settled, the red-light device is positioned to bathe the scalp area in gentle light. The light itself does not burn or tan. You may feel a mild warmth, but most guests describe the sensation as calm and neutral.
During your 30-minute session, you are invited to rest, listen to your own headphones, or simply breathe. There is no need to change into special clothing beyond what is comfortable and allows easy access to your hair and scalp.
After the session, there is no required downtime. You can return to your day, allowing the experience to become part of your regular routine over the 16-week program.
Treatment schedule: a steady, 16-week rhythm
Hair and scalp support with light is most often explored as a longer-term practice rather than a single visit. To help you build a consistent routine, this treatment is offered as a structured program:
- Session length: 30 minutes
- Frequency: every other day
- Program length: 16 weeks
- Total sessions: 56
Life happens. If you need to adjust the timing of individual visits, we will work with you to keep your schedule as close as possible to this rhythm while still fitting your reality.

How to prepare for your session
A little preparation can help you feel relaxed and focused on rest when you arrive.
- Arrive with clean hair, if possible. We suggest coming with a clean scalp and minimal product buildup. Light styling products are fine as long as they do not fully coat the scalp.
- Choose comfortable clothing. Wear something that allows easy access to your hairline and scalp area, such as a loose neckline or button-up top.
- Remove tight accessories. Please remove hats, headbands, hair extensions that cover the scalp, and any tight clips or pins before your session.
- Consider washing off heavy oils or sprays. If you regularly use dense oils, thick styling creams or strong-hold sprays, you may wish to wash these out before your visit.
- Hydrate and have a light snack. Many guests find they relax more fully when they are well hydrated and not overly hungry.
- Bring your questions. You are welcome to ask about the process, light exposure and how this treatment may fit alongside your existing routine.
Contraindications, safety and suitability
Your safety and comfort sit at the centre of every session at Solawell. While low-level red light is generally well-tolerated, it is not the right choice for everyone.
Before beginning a Hair Growth Support program, we will review a short intake form to help identify potential contraindications, including:
- photosensitivity or use of medications that increase sensitivity to light
- active scalp infections, open wounds or unhealed procedures in the treatment area
- a history of skin cancer or current investigation by a dermatologist
- pregnancy or breastfeeding, if advised by your healthcare provider to avoid this type of light exposure
- any other medical conditions where your practitioner has recommended against light-based treatments
This treatment is not a medical procedure and does not replace advice from your healthcare team. If you are under the care of a physician, dermatologist or other practitioner for hair or scalp concerns, we encourage you to speak with them before booking.
If we feel this experience is not suitable for you, we will always share that openly and explore whether another one of our Experiences may be a better fit.
Hair Growth Support FAQs
These questions are specific to the Hair Growth Support treatment. For more studio-wide details, including arrival, cancellations and more, please visit our full FAQs.
Will this treatment regrow my hair?
No specific results can be promised or guaranteed. This experience is designed as a gentle way to support the appearance and comfort of your scalp using red and near-infrared light. Many people explore this type of light alongside other approaches recommended by their healthcare provider, but it is not a cure or medical treatment for hair loss.
How soon might I notice changes?
Responses to any light-based routine can vary widely. Some guests notice subtle shifts in how their scalp feels or how their hair sits over time, while others may not notice clear changes. Because hair cycles are gradual, we frame this as a 16-week program, and even within that window, outcomes remain individual and cannot be predicted.
Can I combine this with other hair treatments?
Many guests are already following guidance from a dermatologist, trichologist or other practitioner when they arrive. We encourage you to share details of this red-light program with your provider and follow their recommendations. Please let us know about any active treatments, prescriptions or recent procedures on the scalp so we can help assess suitability.
Is the light safe for my eyes?
We provide appropriate eye protection and will guide you on how to wear it comfortably throughout your session. You are welcome to keep your eyes closed, and we can adjust positioning and brightness within safe operating guidelines if you are light-sensitive.
What if I miss a session in the program?
Consistency is ideal, but we understand that schedules can change. If you miss a visit, we will help you rebook as close as possible to your original pattern, within the overall program window. We will talk through our booking and rescheduling approach before you begin.
Can I book this as my first experience at Solawell?
Yes. Many guests choose Hair Growth Support as their first session, while others begin with a more general wellness or skin-focused experience before adding this program. If you are unsure where to start, we are happy to help you choose from our Experiences based on your goals.
