Who the Skin Renewal experience is designed for

The Skin Renewal experience is created for Niagara locals and visitors who want a calm, consistent way to support how their skin looks and feels. It is a good fit for those who would like to:

  • Gently support the appearance of smooth, luminous skin
  • Encourage a brighter-looking, more even-looking complexion over time
  • Add a quiet, light-based practice to an existing skincare routine
  • Enjoy private time away from busy treatment rooms and shared spaces
  • Support a sense of rest and unwinding while caring for their skin

This experience does not replace medical care. It is not designed to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and individual responses vary.

How the Skin Renewal light program works

At Solawell, red light and near-infrared light are used in a measured, time-based program. During a Skin Renewal session, specific wavelengths of light are delivered at a set distance from the skin for a defined period of time.

Research on red light suggests it may play a supportive role in how skin appears and feels, including tone, clarity and overall radiance. Responses are gradual and individual, and results are not guaranteed. Solawell’s Skin Renewal experience is offered as a wellness-focused light session and does not provide medical treatment or skin disease management.

Your light program is kept consistent from visit to visit within this experience. Adjustments are made cautiously and only when appropriate, based on your comfort, screening responses and any updates you share with us.

If you have questions about whether red light is suitable for you, we encourage you to speak with your healthcare provider and to review the studio’s About Red Light and FAQs pages for additional context.

What a Skin Renewal session feels like

From the moment you arrive, the studio is kept intentionally quiet and unhurried. Skin Renewal is a fully private experience; the room is prepared for you alone, with low ambient lighting and a calm, uncluttered setting.

Once settled, the light is introduced gradually so your eyes and skin can adjust. Most guests describe the sensation as a gentle, dry warmth on the areas exposed to the light. You will lie comfortably and remain still while the light program runs; many people choose to close their eyes and treat the time as a short, meditative rest.

Your breathing remains natural, and there are no sudden temperature changes or loud sounds. You are able to pause or end the session at any time if you feel discomfort.

Skin Renewal treatment schedule

For this experience, consistency matters more than intensity. The Skin Renewal program is structured as follows:

  • Session length: 30 minutes of light time
  • Frequency: 3 times per week
  • Duration: 4 consecutive weeks
  • Total: 12 private light sessions

Maintaining the full series as booked helps keep your light exposure steady over the four-week period.

How to prepare for your Skin Renewal visit

  • Arrive with clean skin. Please come with your face free of makeup, heavy skincare or self-tanning products on the areas you wish to expose to the light.
  • Avoid new active treatments the same day. If you have recently had peels, lasers, injections or started a new active skincare regime, check with your provider before booking.
  • Clothing. Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to adjust so the areas you’d like to focus on can be uncovered for the light.
  • Hydration and food. Light, normal meals and hydration are recommended; extreme fasting or arriving overly full may make it harder to relax.
  • Arrive a few minutes early. This allows unhurried time for any questions and for you to transition into a quieter headspace before the light begins.

Full pre-visit details are included in your booking confirmation email, and you are always welcome to ask for clarification before you arrive.

Contraindications, safety and suitability screening

Safety and suitability are central to every Solawell visit. Before your first Skin Renewal session, you will complete a confidential intake form that reviews your health history, medications, skincare treatments and overall goals. This helps identify situations where red light may not be advised, or where additional caution is needed.

Red light experiences may not be suitable for you if, for example, you are photosensitive, taking certain photosensitizing medications, pregnant, have active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area, have unmanaged medical conditions, or have been advised by your healthcare provider to avoid light-based therapies.

Solawell does not provide medical clearance. If you are unsure whether Skin Renewal is appropriate for you, please consult your healthcare provider and review the studio’s FAQs and About Red Light pages before booking.

Each visit includes a brief verbal check-in. If anything has changed in your health, medications or skin, it is important to share that before your session so the light program can be adjusted, postponed or declined when needed.

Skin Renewal FAQs

These questions relate specifically to the Skin Renewal experience at Solawell. For broader information, please visit the main FAQs page.

Will I see changes in my skin after one Skin Renewal session?

Most guests experience Skin Renewal as a gentle, relaxing light session. Some people notice their skin looks more rested shortly after a visit, while for others any visible changes are more gradual and subtle. Individual responses vary, and changes in appearance are not guaranteed.

Can I combine Skin Renewal with my existing skincare treatments?

Many guests choose Skin Renewal alongside their regular skincare routines. Because every skin and treatment plan is different, it is important to ask your dermatologist, aesthetician or other provider how red light fits with your specific treatments, timing and products.

Is there any downtime after a Skin Renewal session?

There is no planned downtime with this light-based experience. You can return to your usual day immediately, provided your own skincare providers have not given you different instructions based on other treatments you are having. If your skin feels warm or sensitive, gentle, simple skincare is recommended.

How is this different from other Solawell experiences?

Skin Renewal is designed with facial complexion and skin appearance in mind, while other Solawell experiences may focus more on general wellness, recovery or hair support. The environment and level of privacy remain the same; what changes is the way the light program and schedule are structured. You can explore the full range of offerings on the Experiences page.

Can I book Skin Renewal if I am new to red light?

Yes, many guests experience red light for the first time through the Skin Renewal series. Your intake form, pre-session conversation and gradual light introduction are designed to support a comfortable first visit. If at any point you feel unsure, you can pause and ask questions.
